Playing the Lottery Online

You can play lottery games online and win real money. These games are available on many websites. Most of these sites are safe to use. Some of them are even licensed by the state. These websites have a secure connection and are verified by a third party. They also have customer support available to help you with any issues you may have.

There are some factors to keep in mind when choosing a lottery website. Make sure you read reviews about the website before you choose it. These are usually posted by people who have used the site before and have given it rave reviews. If a website has many good reviews then it is probably a legitimate site.

New Zealand: New Zealand Lottery is a national government-owned and operated lottery in the country of New Zealand. The New Zealand Lottery is administered by an autonomous Crown entity, Lottery New Zealand (formerly the New Zealand Lotteries Commission). Proceeds from the Lottery are distributed through the Lottery Grants Board to charities and community organizations, including Sport and Recreation New Zealand, Creative New Zealand, and the New Zealand Film Commission. The Lottery is a major source of funding for these organizations.

Canada: The Canadian provinces and territories operate lottery systems, regulated by their respective provincial gaming boards. They offer four nationwide lotteries: Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max (which replaced Lotto Super 7 in September 2009), Daily Grand, and Millionaire Life. Several private lottery companies operate games in the country, including GTech Corporation, which claims to administer 70% of worldwide online and instant lotteries.

Laos: Lottery officials in the communist nation of Laos are rigging the system by manipulating winning numbers to avoid large pay-outs, sources in the capital city of Vientiane say. Drawings in the national lottery, which take place three times a week, often show numbers that vanish from purchased tickets or are deemed unlucky and unlikely to be chosen. For example, the number 509 in October’s drawing appeared only as 5 on tickets sold throughout the day of the draw, despite buyers seeking out the “lucky” number.

Taking a chance on a lottery is a common pastime among Lao people. In fact, interpreting one’s dreams for lucky lottery numbers is a popular past time for many in the culture. Buying a ticket is not cheap, so the people of Laos are always looking for ways to increase their chances of winning.

The government should take control of the lottery, a caller from Laos told RFA’s Lao service. Private business interests that run the national lottery include those with links to the ruling elite, he said. But Vilasack Phommaluck, chairman of the steering committee for the lottery, dismissed the claim. He said the steering committee does not block or sell some numbers, and that it would be difficult to do so while watching the drawing live. The committee does double check the lottery balls to ensure that they are fair, he added.
