Lottery is an activity in which numbers are drawn at random to determine the winner of a prize. It is one of the world’s oldest and most popular gambling activities. It has become a major source of revenue for many governments and is the most popular form of gambling in the United States. Despite the drop in ticket sales, some vendors continue to sell lottery tickets on the streets. Van Nguyen, a vendor in Binh Thanh District, said he needs to make money to pay his rent and buy food. He added that he knows selling tickets is illegal, but he has to do it to survive. Others, like Truong Thi Le from Dong Thap, said that sales have never been so bad before, and they are not even able to cover their daily living expenses. It has been a struggle for her to earn enough to support her family.
