This number is associated with the cat, a symbol of luck in Lao culture. But the number vanished from purchased tickets just an hour before the drawing, a source told RFA.
Another concern raised by lottery players is that the winning numbers are chosen from a pre-selected pool of numbers. A source told RFA that the company that runs the lottery knows which numbers people choose, so it can manipulate the results.
