The idea of winning the lottery makes a lot of people’s dreams come true. This is especially true for those who have a hard time making ends meet or those who are down on their luck. The promise of sudden wealth is enough to keep them buying tickets week after week. However, not all of us can win the lottery, and that’s fine. There are other ways to get the thrill of a flutter. In fact, there are some who make gambling a full-time profession and aren’t afraid to bet on anything they can think of. They even buy physical newsagencies just so they can print out lottery tickets and place their bets. They’re known as professional gamblers and it’s a career many are drawn to.
The Thai lottery (Thai:
GLO sells the tickets to national wholesalers, commonly called brokers, who then sell them to the nation’s 14,760 registered retail vendors. The tickets are pre-printed and include a number of anti-counterfeiting features. They are sold in ticket pairs, with each individual ticket costing 80 baht. The tickets also contain the schedule of prizes and ancillary information. The draw itself is conducted by a guest named the “Draw Chairman” who is invited to inspect the equipment and select balls to initialize each machine.
The winning numbers are then displayed on the monitors. There are two types of prizes: the top prize and a bonus prize. The top prize is for those who match all six of the numbers correctly. The bonus prize is for those who match five of the numbers but miss out on the last digit by one number above or below. In this way, there are four possible winners for each drawing. There was also a jackpot prize for those who got all six digits correctly, but this was scrapped in 2015. GLO also used to have two different types of tickets: TGL and TCL. Is this still the case?
