Lottery online is a popular way for people to play lottery games on their computers or mobile devices. Some websites also offer instantaneous results and allow players to purchase tickets for various events and competitions. These sites often charge a premium on the base lottery price.
Some countries have legalized this type of online gaming, while others do not. For example, the United States has a national lottery, and several states have their own state-run lotteries. In addition, some private lotteries offer games on the Internet. In many cases, these online lotteries are regulated by federal laws.
In New Zealand, the government runs a number of lotteries, including the Lotto (including Powerball and Strike), Keno, and Instant Kiwi scratch card games. The profits of these lotteries are distributed by the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board to a variety of charitable and community organizations. The games are regulated by the Lottery Act 1993.
The Minister of Finance Bounchom has reiterated the need to regulate illegal lotteries, saying that these activities lure people into habitual betting. He said the ministry has already formed a committee to tackle the problem, but more investment is needed to address the issue. He also promised to work with the parliament to establish a law on the regulation of lotteries.
While he emphasized that the government does not approve of these online lottery services, Bounchom conceded that some local businesses have been offering the service. The minister stated that he was confident authorities in charge could deal with these businesses, but added that it would be difficult to do so given the size and scope of the internet.
According to him, many Vietnamese citizens are reliant on selling lottery tickets as their sole source of income. He pointed out that the social security system in Vietnam is not yet able to support this large number of poor people, so they choose selling lottery tickets as their only means of survival. On lucky days, a single ticket seller can make up to 230 000 VN-Dong (10 US-Dollars) in a day.
Besides providing the funds to live, a winning lottery ticket seller often has other goals, such as helping family members or travelling to South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. For Dokkeo, the mother of two, her top priority is to ensure her family’s safety and well-being. She plans to use the prize money to buy a house and invest in her daughters’ education.
