They prefer this income over the socially detested act of begging. On good days, the two sell up to 250 tickets. They start their shift at around 5 am and work 16 hours. They eat a small breakfast of rice and vegetable soup before hitting the streets of Saigon. The money isn’t enough to live on, but it’s better than being homeless or begging.
