Huong, a pregnant woman from Saigon, is one of these lottery ticket sellers. On good days she sells 250 tickets per day, earning a profit of about 11 US-Dollars. On bad days, she only manages to sell 180 tickets.

Mitchell-Lama Connect is a web portal that allows residents to enter into waiting list lotteries for available apartments at Mitchell-Lama developments. The portal also enables residents to track the status of their application. The waiting list lotteries are held periodically, so residents must re-apply each year. The application process is online and requires a government-issued photo ID, proof of address, a social insurance number and contact information. If a resident is selected, they will receive notification through the mail.
