A source who spoke to RFA’s Lao Service on condition of anonymity said that private business interests have too much control over the national lottery. He added that the public is not informed how much these business interests pay the government for the concession to operate the lottery, and there are no inspections of their operations. He further claimed that the lottery’s management should be reverted to the government.
