In New Zealand, the national lotteries are operated by an autonomous Crown entity known as Lotto New Zealand and subsidize community groups and sporting and arts organizations with proceeds from ticket sales. These allocations are distributed by the Lottery Grants Board directly to those groups. In addition, Lotto New Zealand offers four national games: Lotto, Keno, Bullseye and Instant Kiwi scratch card games.
In Canada, the national lotteries are operated by a consortium of five regional lottery commissions that are owned and operated by their respective provincial/territorial governments: Atlantic Lottery Corporation (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador), Loto-Quebec (Quebec), Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (Ontario), Western Canada Lottery Corporation (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut), and British Columbia Lottery Corporation (British Columbia). The National Lottery is a major source of revenue in Canada.
In Liechtenstein, the state-controlled International Lottery Foundation (ILLF) pioneered Internet gaming in 1995 and processed the first online lottery transaction. ILLF now operates many websites and games, including the online versions of PLUS Lotto and its international subsidiaries. The Foundation supports charitable projects domestically and internationally. Its branded websites are collectively referred to as the ILLF family of brands. In addition to its online offerings, ILLF is a member of the European Lottery Association. This association represents the European lottery industry and oversees adherence to strict anti-money laundering standards. The ILLF also has licensing agreements with several online re-sellers to provide its products and games in other jurisdictions.
