The prime minister’s office has reportedly sent a directive to the ministry that calls for reducing the frequency of drawings and ensuring that winners are handled in a transparent manner. The Lao deputy finance minister tells RFA the government will strictly abide by the directive, though it has yet to be implemented. The government should retake control of the lottery, he adds.
