Illegal lottery sales based on foreign countries have sprung up, but action is being taken to curb this practice, Finance Minister Bounchom Ubonpaseuth told a recent extraordinary session of the National Assembly. He said that foreign lottery operators are selling lotteries originating from Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and China illegally in Laos as many as four times per day, even though the country has its own legal lottery.
