Foreign lotteries from Vietnam, Cambodia, and China are sold unlawfully in Laos as often as four times a day, he told lawmakers. The minister said that he was aware of the issue and that a committee had already been set up to deal with it, but that more money would be needed to develop a system for tracing those involved in the illegal lottery business.
Currently, New Zealand has a single nationwide lottery, Lotto. All proceeds are distributed by the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board to charities and community groups.
