Vilasack Phommaluck, a Finance Ministry official serving on the committee that oversees the lottery, told RFA that there have been changes to address these concerns. He said the committee is considering reducing the frequency of the lottery to once a week, as well as increasing the transparency of the process by showing the drawing live.
He added that while there are still questions about the integrity of the lottery, it is important to keep playing.
