In Laos, lottery officials are rigging the system to avoid paying out large jackpots, sources in the communist country tell RFA’s Lao Service. Drawings for the country’s national lottery, which take place three times a week, frequently show numbers that vanish from purchased tickets or are deemed unlucky and therefore unlikely to be selected, the sources say.
