Today, the lottery business is worth $70 billion in the US. In other countries, the industry is much smaller but still profitable.

Whether or not the numbers are being manipulated, it is unclear what the impact of these shenanigans will be on lottery sales in the country. One possible solution would be to reduce the frequency of the drawings.
