Winning Lottery Tickets
All winning tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date. Prizes up to $25,000, less offsets and obligations, will be paid by check on the day the ticket is claimed. Prizes over $25,000 will be paid by the Maryland Lottery headquarters after a delay of 30 business days.
To claim a winning ticket, present your ID and proof of age to the lottery retailer. Then, follow the prompts to complete a claim form. You must sign your name on the claim form in order to receive your prize. All prize claims are subject to verification.

Lottery officials in the communist country of Laos are rigging the system and manipulating winning numbers to avoid large pay-outs, sources in the Southeast Asian nation say. Drawings of the national lottery, which take place three times each week, frequently show numbers that disappear from purchased tickets or are deemed unlucky and unlikely to be chosen, a source told RFA’s Lao service. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity. They said that private business interests have a stake in the lottery, and they pay the government an annual fee for the right to run it. The Lao public is not informed how much that cost. The source added that the businesses also have connections with Lao ruling elites.
