The government-owned company is introducing the new service in an effort to expand its market share. It currently holds only 2% of the country’s lottery market, compared to other private operators that hold between 20-30%. The heightened accessibility of the new system is anticipated to boost sales at physical lottery outlets and catalyze the growth of the industry as a whole.
In addition to increasing sales, the launch of E-Lotto is also intended to help the company improve the quality of its service. The PCSO has recently suffered from a series of scandals that have tarnished its reputation among Filipinos, and the launch of E-Lotto could boost the agency’s image. The system is available for those who use the mobile apps of iGaming firms or on websites that offer PCSO products. The iGaming companies pay a commission to the PCSO for each bet made on its website.
