Some players found this news encouraging; others feel that these changes came too little too late and remain skeptical that the lottery can truly provide fair gaming conditions. They want more transparency with regard to its operation. The government has attempted to address these concerns by revising rules; however, their effectiveness remains unknown. Meanwhile, private business interests are taking advantage of people who depend on lottery for a living; this trend must be dealt with immediately as soon as possible and this type of illegal activity must be stopped or it could have devastating repercussions for Lao’s economy.
