There are four nationwide lotteries, Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max (which replaced Lotto Super 7 in September 2009), Daily Grand, and Millionaire Life. The national lottery is rigged in the communist country of Laos, sources tell RFA’s Lao Service. Drawings are often marred by incorrectly printed numbers and numbers that appear to disappear from purchased tickets. A caller who spoke on condition of anonymity to RFA’s Lao Service urged the government to resume control over the lottery and to stop the private business interests involved in the lottery’s work. These businesses include persons with connections to the ruling elite, he added. The government should take back the lottery, he says, “because its results cannot be trusted.”
