Ticket sellers in the communist country of Laos are manipulating the lottery to avoid paying out large sums of money to winners, sources in the capital Vientiane tell RFA’s Lao Service. Drawings in the national lottery frequently show numbers that aren’t available to buy throughout the day of the drawing, and other numbers that appear on tickets purchased for the drawing suddenly vanish, the sources say.
