It also ordered that informal football lotteries and lottery chances purchased through mobile phone short messaging service be shut down. A Lao deputy finance minister told RFA’s Lao Service that the directive will be enforced, but no specific date has yet been set. The directive will also target online gambling sites that accept customers from Laos.
