The Lottery for Arts is an annual fundraiser for Blue Line Arts, where artists donate artworks to be auctioned for fundraising purposes. All funds raised go directly to the art education and outreach programs at the gallery. Guests are invited to purchase tickets, sponsorships, or attend the live event to participate in the lottery and choose a work of art for their home or business. Each Lottery ticket has a unique name registered on it that is called during the live lottery event to make their selection at the live auction. The ticket holders must be present to win the artwork they have chosen.

In Laos, a variety of games are played as part of the national lottery. The most popular is the keno game, which can be played with pen and paper or by using video lottery terminals. While the legal status of gambling in Laos is complicated, players from Laos can gamble at a number of online casinos without risking arrest. These casinos offer the most popular games to gamblers from around the world and can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. Some of the most popular online casinos accept players from Laos.

A private business interest that holds a stake in the Laos national lottery has been accused of rigging the draws in order to avoid large payouts. A source in Laos told RFA that the company in charge of the lottery draws also manages other businesses with connections to the ruling elite. The source said that the lottery’s operations are managed without public knowledge or scrutiny. The winning numbers often appear to vanish on purchased tickets before the drawing takes place, and numbers deemed unlucky are less likely to be selected.
