For instance, a radio station broadcast that the winning number for a recent drawing was 134, but the number appeared only as 5 on purchased tickets. In a similar incident, the number 509 disappeared from tickets sold throughout the day on Oct. 14 this year, but reappeared only 10 minutes before the drawing was held. These incidents have prompted the public to demand that the government take control of the lottery. Nevertheless, the minister in charge of the lottery has said that he is unable to do so, citing lack of resources and a need to develop a system for tracking people who participate in illegal lotteries. He has promised to continue pursuing the issue with lawmakers, though.
