He hoped that the money would help their children, and that they could invest some to start a business. He said that he was an Iu Mien, a southeast Asian ethnic group that migrated to the United States as refugees during the Vietnam War. Iu Mien communities are widespread in the United States, and some have formed social organizations, churches and businesses. Some of these immigrants have won large jackpots, including the $1.3 billion prize won by an Oregon Powerball winner last year. This is the fourth-largest prize in Powerball history.
