How much can a person win? This talk will explore these issues and more. In addition to discussing some historical and contemporary issues, the speaker will share his own experiences playing the Lao lottery while doing ethnographic fieldwork in Luang Prabang in 2013-2016. He will discuss how he came to understand the mechanics of the lottery system and what it means for the people who use it.
