The number of lotteries around the world is staggering. While many countries have their own state lotteries, others rely on private companies. Private lotteries offer a range of games, including instant win scratch-offs, online slots and video poker, keno, and more. There are also many companies that sell lottery tickets, although some are reputable and trustworthy while others are not.
New Zealand is one country that regulates its national lotteries through an independent Crown entity, Lotto New Zealand. The profits from Lotto New Zealand are distributed by the New Zealand Grants Board to a variety of charities and community organizations. The majority of Lotto New Zealand’s profits are distributed to schools and sports clubs, and a small portion is reserved for the national health fund.
