It wants to reduce the number of drawings to one a week and to handle winnings more transparently, the source added. The government will also limit the use of lottery-style games on mobile phones and prohibit gambling advertisements. It is not yet clear how these measures will be enforced. Nevertheless, the government’s attempt to rein in the lottery industry is welcomed by many people who are struggling to make ends meet. The government has been criticized for its slow response to the growing problem of poverty in the country.
