Officials are concerned that the increasing number of these illegal lotteries will lure people into habitual betting, which is not good for the society. Minister Bounchom says that the government needs to increase its surveillance and invest in a system to trace those behind these activities. He has said that the problem is difficult to tackle because illegal lotteries are conducted mostly on the Internet. However, he believes that authorities will be able to solve the problem.
