In Laos, gambling is considered illegal but there are special economic zones where it is legal to gamble. Huong and Manh earn a living by selling lotto tickets in downtown Saigon, a job that requires them to work 16-hour shifts. On good days they sell 250 tickets and make a daily profit of about 11 US-$ each. On bad days they only sell 180 tickets and lose about 8 US-$ each. Despite the low income, they are happy with their lives.
