The state-run Internet lottery in Liechtenstein launched in 1995 and pioneered the Internet gaming industry. The International Lottery in Liechtenstein Foundation (ILLF) manages the site and supports charitable projects domestically and internationally. The website is also home to the world’s first virtual scratchcard game. The ILLF has been awarded numerous accolades for its innovative work in the field of online gaming.

Several lotteries are run in Canada. These include the Canada Lottery, the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, and the BC Lottery Corporation. In addition, the country has several regional lotteries. These lotteries are not regulated, and they have been accused of being illegal.

In Laos, gambling is legal only in Special Economic Zones leased out by the government to boost foreign trade. These zones are dotted throughout the country. However, players from Laos can play in offshore casinos without risking getting caught.

The national Lottery of Laos is operated by the Société de Loterie Nationale, which is part of the government’s Ministry of Finance. It offers multiple prizes including cash, travel packages, and sports tickets. The games are offered in both English and French. In the past, the Société had been accused of being unprofessional and inefficient, but recent reforms have improved its performance.

There are also various other types of lottery games in the country. The most popular is the keno, which is played by more than half of the population. Other games include baccarat, roulette, and poker.

For many poor Vietnamese people, selling lottery tickets is the only way to make a living. The social security systems in the country aren’t capable of supporting these people, so they choose to sell tickets over the socially despised act of begging. On good days, a seller can earn up to 230 000 VN-Dong per day, enough to pay for food and daily necessities. However, on bad days, they can only make 180 tickets. Regardless of how well they do, they have to spend 16 hours each day on their shift. Huong, a single mother in Saigon, is one of these sellers.
