Today, there are four nationwide lottery games in Canada: Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, Daily Grand and Millionaire Life. These are administered by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, a consortium of the five provincial/territorial lotteries: Atlantic Lottery Corporation (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland), Loto-Quebec (Quebec), Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (Ontario) and Western Canada Lottery Corporation (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta).
The first nationwide lottery was introduced in France in 1769. Since then, dozens of national lotteries have been established worldwide.
