The New Zealand Lottery is an official Crown entity and is administered independently of the Ministry of Justice. This has been backed up by questions about the weight of the lottery balls. However, steering committee member Vilasack Phommaluck dismissed these claims. He says the committee double checks the lottery balls before they are used in the draw.
