The chairman of the governing body, however, brushed off the criticisms. “I think it is important for the lottery to work closely with other sectors in the economy and to focus on its core functions,” he said. “I think this is why the lottery is able to provide its good results.” The government’s deputy finance minister and state lottery supervisor, Sila Viengkeo, also dismissed the allegations as unfounded. He vowed to take measures to improve transparency and accountability in the lottery system.
