This is just enough to keep them alive as they await the arrival of their baby. Huong is just one of many lottery ticket sellers in the city. Gambling is illegal in Laos, but it is allowed in Special Economic Zones that the government leases out to boost foreign trade. Huong hopes that her little family will soon be able to live a better life.
