The Thai Lotto App – A New Way to Play the Lottery

Thailand’s lottery industry is an enormous one, accounting for an annual spend of 76 billion baht on tickets alone. Not only is it the most widely practiced form of gambling but it provides income to nearly one third of its population as well. Furthermore, lottery plays an integral role in Thai culture with superstitions and rituals surrounding its processes.

GLO hosts two monthly lotteries on January 1st and 16th with over 100 million tickets sold each round, widely broadcast on TV, and celebrated throughout Thailand. Winning one of these prizes may provide Thais with an important boost toward reaching their dreams.

However, lottery is not without its challenges. First of all, ticket prices are often artificially inflated due to superstitious beliefs or hidden margins – such as people believing their license plate registration number or birth date can predict what numbers they buy – while others visit temples praying to a ghost who grants financial prosperity through luck or fortune. Dreams of winning big can sometimes have tragic results such as when one man committed suicide after buying lottery tickets for his family but failing to win any grand prizes in 2015.

While the GLO is taking steps to combat such practices, many Thais continue to purchase lottery tickets from street vendors who mark up prices. Furthermore, digitalization threatens the livelihoods of retailers who rely heavily on selling lottery tickets as their livelihood.

GLO is hoping to change this by selling digital lottery tickets through their Pao Tang app, with hopes that this will reduce overpricing and create a fairer lottery experience for all players. Unfortunately, however, retail sectors fear this move could put them out of business altogether.

This app makes purchasing lottery tickets convenient, supporting both Thai and English languages. In addition to ticket purchasing capabilities, the app also boasts other features including past lottery purchases history and notifications when there’s a new draw – all free download for Apple devices running iOS 9 or later.

Bom, an avid mathematician and lottery player, found the app invaluable in her lottery game experience. It allowed her to keep an eye on results and make informed decisions for future purchases; but she doesn’t put much faith into its system – she prefers using logic and mathematics skills when selecting numbers instead. Bom also enjoys picking her numbers with friends via Line group chat; sharing tactics about lotteries.
