Drawings in the lottery, which take place three times a week, often show numbers that vanish from purchased tickets or are deemed unlucky and unlikely to be chosen. For example, the number 509 in the October 14 drawing appeared only as five on tickets sold throughout the day of the drawing, a source told RFA’s Lao Service.
